I know many of us see things like this in a recipe ingredient list- 2 cups flour, siftedand decide that the sifting doesn’t really matter. We can “sift” it into the measuring cup with our spoon, right? Not so much.
Is that step of sifting really important? YES! Especially when you are using gluten free flours. They tend to clump more than all purpose white flour. Especially once you add liquid, the moisture creates a little capsule around the ball of flour, leaving you with a little pocket of dust to bite into. Not enjoyable!
Now, not every recipe calls for you to sift the flour but when it does…..take the extra minute and sift it. Your mouth will thank you.
